- When I read music blogs and magazines sometimes I feel the reviewers are unqualified to write the things they write about. Just because you collect music CDs it does not give you a true understanding of music and what is good or not.

I studies music theory in Spain in the 80s with one of the best musicians. And later on my own I have been learning about Persian music scales which I subtly use in my music.

We are interested in pages of the youth culture Javanan Magazine containing lyrics of songs. These pages are very valueable because unlike cassettes or even records in Iran, these magazines provide a rather exact date of when certain songs were released or wher popular. Regarding RangaRang Videos

- I wanted to mention that these videos are very rare because when the revolution happened in 1979 the master copies at the national tv station were destroyed. Basically, the new regime would get the old video tapes and record speeches by Khomeini on top of them. They would target old music TV shows mainly as it bothered them most. They would tape over in order to save money. The few remaining copies are from home video recording using a VCR which some rich people already had in the 70s in Iran. But then the color system for the VCR’s was different than in the US, so many times quality was lost during the conversion. There are couple of reels that were saved because a TV employee, secretly took them to her home in order to save them from being taped over.

This site works the same way for everybody. If you want something you need to find something from your families collection or go and buy in the bazar or in old bookstores something equally hard to find. Then digitalize it yourself and if I find the material sufficiently valuable I will trade with you. First make sure it is something I am looking for.

The excuse I hear is typically: "I don't have anything to give". Wrong answer: I did not have anything when I started either. I had to spend lots of money from my own pocket to gather what I have gathered. You need to do the same if you want something.

This is why it is so important to have images marked and provide only incomplete samples. People need to realize that this material is difficult to get and if they want somthing they need to put a serious effort on their own side and give something back.

Also do not speak for others. Dont tell me others have contributed to the site. It is almost entirely my own material. I know every person who has ever colaborated and they have always requested something back. Therefore my question will always be: "What have you in particular sent to the site?"

Why is there a big stamp on the pictures? / About sites that copy my material

? چرا روی عکسا مهر و نوشتهٔ بزرگی‌ گذاشتی

As explained previously and also in the following points, gathering this material is extremely difficult. It takes hours of searching in stores, spending money, writing letters sending international packages, begging and more begging to obtain these rare items that I put on this site. Therefor I have to be protective of the material of this site. The whole point of this site is that I am archiving extremely rare material which is on the verge of getting lost forever. Naturally it takes an enormous effort to obtain this material and we will fight anyone who steps over our work and our efforts by simply copying the material of this site.
Initially I assumed that people would be nice and would understand that they should not copy but unfortunatelly some sites still copy so by putting these stamps I protect my hard work.
Being so innocent initially I would only write the address of the site on the picture in a rather small way, but then some guy would go and just erase the marking and repost it on his site! Here is an example and the way you can spot stolen pictures:
