Notes::
You might be surprised to know that one of the key players in the late 60s and the entire 1970s in pop music in Iran was a black man !! His name was Eric Arconte and was black because he came from the French Caribbean Antilles islands of Guadeloupe.

Above an original CBS Iran cassette from artist Marjan featuring a picture of Eric in the liner notes because the entire album is arranged by him.

Eric studied in the conservatory in Paris and was able to play music by reading music scores. He landed a job as the drummer of an Italian band that needed a drummer for a gig in a club in Tehran and Eric arrived with them and his wife to Iran in 1965 and remained until the revolution. He arranged many records, like the sound sample provided on this page, for artists needing rhythmic arrangements including Gougoush, Soli, Ebi... All the big names used his services at some point.
