This is a very sought after recording by those of us who love older iranian music. Jalal Hemati who died in the mid 2000's due to alzheimers had started his career in Iran before the revolution and had a novelty joke record hit called Rock Kordy. But those who had heard his frequent appearances in the radio knew he had an amazing voice. So high it sounds like a woman. In the late 90's in California he had a hit album called "Party Mix". Unfortunatelly it was made with cheezy synthesizer productions. However, earlier in the decade of the 1980's he put out two amazing tapes, one called Bisetoon and the other is this one "songs of Delkash". For misterious reasons Caltex has never released these on CD even though Jalal became much later one of their biggest selling artists. On paper and in writing descirbing these two cassettes would do them injustice. They simply have a precussion player and a single violin player plus jalal's voice singing live in the studio. It looks like a single take because the mistakes are still there. Etc. But what an amazing voice full of volume and enriched with history. Takes the songs to a whole new level just with his voice that conveys pain to me at least. Check below for audio Sample LISTEN 0:59 SOUND SAMPLE

Jalal Hemati became famous with a novelty joke record called Rock Kordy. Considering his amazing voice it is quite sad that it was like this.
